Photography Client Guide

Welcome

Thank you for booking a branding photography session.

Whether you need images for your website, social media, marketing materials or online profiles, this guide will help you prepare for your session and get the most value from your images.

My goal is to create authentic, professional photographs that reflect your personality, your business and the experience you provide to your clients.

Before Your Session

What is Branding Photography?

Branding photography is more than just headshots.

It helps potential clients connect with the person behind the business by showcasing:

  • You and your personality
  • your products or services
  • Your workspace
  • Your process
  • Your brand story

These images can be used across your:

  • Website
  • Social media
  • Google Business Profile
  • Email marketing
  • Printed marketing materials

Preparing For Your Session

Think About your brand

Before your session, consider:

  • How do you want people to feel when they see your business?
  • What makes your business unique?
  • What do clients often say about working with you?
  • What messages do you want to communicate?

There are no right or wrong answers. These simply help guide the session, and some of the questions you would have completed in your Branding Photography Questionnaire.

Choosing Your Outfits

Select clothing that feels professional, comfortable and aligned with your brand.

Some helpful tips:

  • Choose colours that complement your branding.

  • Bring 2 - 3 outfit options if possible
  • Wear clothing that allows you to move comfortably and confidently.

Most importantly, choose outfits that feel like you.

During Your Session

You do not need modelling experience.

I'll guide you throughout the session with posing, movement and prompts while also creating opportunities for natural interactions and genuine responses.

The goal is not perfection. The goal is to create images that feel authentic and represent your business well.

FAQ

I hate having my photo taken. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Most business owners tell me this before their session.

I'll guide you throughout the process and create a relaxed environment so you can focus on being yourself rather than worrying about the camera.

I don't know what images I need.

That's completely fine. Using our consultation and the questionnaire you provided, we can create a shot list together than aligns with your business branding needs.

Can I use the images on my website and social media?

Absolutely. Branding photography is designed specifically for marketing and business use.

New To Building An Online Presence?

Many of my clients are creating or refreshing their online presence for the first time.

You don't need to know exactly what images you need before we begin. I'll help you identify the types of photographs that will work best for your website, social media and marketing goals.
